Unless you fully support yourself and are completely independent from your parents, do not preach or relate to me on being poor. I think I know a total of 2 people my age that financially support themselves completely. Because they have no other choice like myself. Upper middle class students who are like ‘yeah I’m poor I can’t afford to go out/buy weed. Blah blah.” not to mention mom and dad pay for their shit, whether it’s a phone bill or groceries, you still get help. My parents can afford to support themselves and that’s about it. Most students have no fucking grasp on what it is like to be an adult, or be a lower middle class person my age who has to live paycheck to paycheck on three jobs just to make rent and bill payments. Unless you have paid for all of your own shit since the age of 15, and habitually pay for ALL of your own shit, I consider you privileged. I’ve lived by myself and fiscally make a poverty level income for almost 3 years now, and wow, it infuriates me to see people my age who go running to mom and dad for money all the time. Not to mention so many people don’t have to pay their own tuition; and people who do can’t finish half the time because they can’t get proper funding. I really dislike most people of my generation.
